The Mountain House: Housing in Poblenou (C.010)

Rainscreen facade with wooden suporting structure, waterproof sheet and thermally modified timber cladding. This housing building is located in Barcelona, a city know for its warm and humid clima. The main facade of the building is mainly facing south, which means that it gets a lot of sun radiation. That is why a rainscreen facade is chosen for this proyect. There is also a concern for choosing sustainable materials and working close with specialists and craftsmen, so all the supporting structure necessary is made out of wood by a carpenter in his workshop and the quickly assembled in situ. The cladding is made out of wood as well, but thermally modified timber in order to be able to age better and resist the ambiental conditions. To break with all this wooden look the solar protection consist on aluminium folding blinds.
